You And Your Child.. Your Greatest Asset
Your child is your greatest asset. It may not seem that way as you are up for two o'clock feedings and potty training and working through the two year old's tantrums. It may not appear close to that as you wipe runny noses and lose sleep while nursing his/her fever or as you try with a good face to make them understand that pouring honey all over the kitchen floor is not a good idea. As you wonder when and if your teen will ever get home ... your child as an asset is no where near your conscious thoughts. Then.. one day before you know it... he/she walks off the high school stage.. diploma in hand. Proudly he waves goodbye leaving for his first experience at college. He/she arrives home for his first visit after locking in that first after college graduation job.... and shakes your hand. Every midnite hour you spent awake, every ounce of energy you ever used in discipline or encouragement or reprimands.. every dollar spent in gas or food or clothing... it all is represented there.. in that handshake.. and you look with pride with an almost awesome feeling at the greatest asset of your lifetime... your child. |
