The Irony Of It All

Isn't there some irony in the fact that the government has elected to send tax rebates to many Americans in May.. and then raise taxes as soon as President Bush's tax cuts expire instead of renewing those tax cuts?

Is there some irony in the fact that tax cuts can have an expiration but tax hikes seem to be always permanent?

Isn't it ironical that there is an element in our society that would tax the very businesses that give us a leg to stand on economically ... tax them to the point that they would or could be driven out of this country or forced to close their doors .. and then those companies are derided for doing so?

Can some irony be found in the fact that those people who would propose such things are somehow always exempt themselves ... from every negative thing they are proponents of?

The greatest irony... they are government people... people elected by Americans who are supposed to be acting in the best interest of the American people... who propose these things.

Bottom line... they were elected to their offices... by Americans.

Oh the irony of it all.
