The Federalist Papers....A Must Read Today?
Today the Supreme Court takes a look at the second amendment of our National Constituion. Do we the people really have the right to carry guns? Perhaps this is the time we all need to look back into history to educate ourselves of why the Constituion was written as it was, if you already haven't. The Federalist Papers are essays that were written and publicized to help the public understand the Constituion when ratification of the Constition was being encouraged. James Madison and Alexander Hamilton were the main writers of these essays and in reading and studying them it can be understood that they intended us.. the people of the United States .. to be free from anyone ever being able to take away our unalienable rights that have been given to us by our creator... that we should forever be free of being ruled by man. Our government was put in place to be "of the people, by the people, for the people." That seems to have been taken and twisted to the point that some people in government think it is just the opposite... that the people are there for the government, and only the government knows what is best for the people. Our founders knew what it was like to live under man's rule. Their goal was to make sure that never happened in this new country .. the United States of America. It is up to us to make sure those freedoms are never ever revoked. How can we do that? By understanding the Constituion and them making sure we vote for candidates who understand and value it and will stand up for it and us and the freedoms of this country. We need to vote using our knowledge .. not our emotions. |
