The Battle Rages

Oh how righteous thou art! That phrase cannot escape me as I read of the childish .. yet so predictable... behavior of the presidential candidates battling for the Democratic nomination. Both sides are succintly being as ugly and underhanded as possible toward the other side...which we expect...after all it is politics. Yet....with the first sign of anyone reciprocating in any way.. be it an advisor of their own team.. or on the opposite team.. the cry goes up. "How could you????" "This will never be how I operate!" John Q. Public is .. with these words..supposed to believe the complete indignation and the so called appall felt by whichever candidate is speaking those words at the moment... and they are said so sincerely and slyly that maybe there are those who truly do believe them... though how anyone could have their head so deeplly in the sand to be able to do that is beyond me. It is politics... people. You must look beyond the hype to the individual candidates.. to what they stand for.. not allowing your emotions to be manipulated by the words spoken for the moment. It's a mighty responsibility we have to do that ... but do it we must if we want what is best for our country. It falls on us... end of story. |
