Sun And Children and Vitamin D
Sunshine provides alot of UV rays. It also provides the means for our bodies to accumulate the viamin D that is so necessary for our growth. So what is a good level of sunshine for our children? If we smother them with sunscreen every minute they are exposed to the sun they will not absorb what they need vitamin wise. If we don't sunscreen them... we expose them to the UV rays. According to research.. ten to twenty minutes a day of sunshine provides enough vitamin D for a child. So.. allow your child's skin to be exposed to that degree. It will not hurt him/her. It is a necessity. |
