Patio Tomatoes
Spring is around the corner and it is time for planting. If you like tomatoes and are short on garden space... or lacking it completely.. you can still have wonderful fresh tomaotes this summer. Get two or three clay pots. Put some drainage clay or rocks in the bottm, making sure there is a drainage hole in the bottom of the pot. Fill with some good quality potting soil. Purchase one tomatoe plant for each pot.... perhaps one cherry or grape tomatoe (Chelsea cherry is great) and one larage tomatoe (Early Girl is wonderful). Put tomatoes cages in the pots for the to support the plants. Set the pots outside your door in a sunny area. Fertilize the plants ones every 12 to 14 days with a tomatoe fertilizer, Watch them grow and before you know it you will be eating the sweetest juiciest tomatoes you have ever had. |
