On Being A Child
When are we as adults expecting too much of children? A chld is just that.. a child. Each has a unique personality to live with and learn with. To judge one because of another's behavior is unfair. Do we without thinking expect children to be young adults? They aren't young adults. They cannot behave as young adults. That is why they require parent.. teachers ..in every aspect of their lives. Do we tend to label children for behaving like children must behave just because they are children? Is it easier to label them than to teach them? Our job as parents .. as adults in the lives of children is to appreciate the fact that they are children and to know our role in their lives.. as teachers.. and to not lump them all together as one and expect each of them to behave as we wish they would behave instead of behaving like children. They are only children... they cannot act any older than they are... but... they can learn. We adults must know our role. After all .. we are the adults here. |
